Dubai Car Inspection: Our Pre-Purchase Inspection Process

A proper inspection connects the paperwork, the physical car and the diagnostic evidence.

If you are buying a used car in Dubai, you should understand what an inspection actually does before booking one. It is not a mechanic glancing under the bonnet and declaring the car good. An INSPECTMOTORS mobile pre-purchase inspection is a structured condition assessment at the seller's location, with the checks and equipment matched to the package you select. Here is what to prepare, what can be examined on site and how to use the report.

Before we arrive: make the car accessible

Share the exact model, year, vehicle location and seller contact details. Obtain the seller's consent to an independent inspection and ask for the keys, registration details and available service records. A safe, well-lit location with room around the car makes the assessment more useful. If the seller allows a road test, arrange for the car to be available for it. A restricted showroom or cramped parking space may limit some checks, and the report should record those limits.

Start with identity, exterior and visible condition

The inspector compares the vehicle's identifying details with the information supplied and assesses the visible body, glass, tyres, brakes, engine bay, interior and accessible underside within the selected package. Paint thickness measurements on suitable panels can help flag areas for closer review where that check is included. They do not, by themselves, prove the history of every repair, and composite materials need a different approach.

Put diagnostics and the road test in context

Where the package includes it, a diagnostic scan can show information from accessible electronic modules. Codes need interpretation: a stored code may be old, and no visible code does not prove that every component is healthy. The inspector also assesses how the car behaves when operated; a road test is carried out when included in the package, permitted by the seller and safe at the location. No test drive can reproduce every condition a car will face over years of ownership.

How we look for odometer rollback during a Dubai car inspection

A low dashboard reading is a claim to assess, not proof of low use. We compare it with the visible condition of the controls, seats and other inspected components. Available service invoices and previous inspection or history records can establish whether the mileage increases consistently over time. Records must match the vehicle's VIN, and miles must be converted before comparing them with kilometres.

On compatible vehicles, accessible electronic mileage information may reveal another discrepancy when diagnostic checks are included. It is not available on every model, and an ordinary fault-code scan does not certify mileage. Even matching dashboard and ECU readings cannot exclude coordinated changes or replaced modules.

Match the inspection depth to the car

The packages do not all include the same checks. A newer ordinary car with a strong history may call for a different scope than an older performance car, an EV or a rare exotic. Tell us the exact model and any concerns you already have so you can select the suitable package. Do not assume that one test or a generic point count means every important question has been answered.

Use the report to make a decision, not to collect a score

The report documents observations and supporting photos so you can distinguish routine wear from items that may change the purchase decision. Review the limitations as well as the findings. If an observation needs a workshop teardown or a brand specialist to confirm its cause, arrange that follow-up before committing. A seller may agree to repair something, adjust the price or let you walk away; the report gives you evidence for that discussion.

Schedule the inspection before the deal becomes final

The practical order is simple: view the car, agree a price in principle, obtain seller permission, book the mobile inspection and read the report before paying the final balance. If a holding deposit is unavoidable, put the inspection condition and refund terms in writing. Our current booking page shows availability for the vehicle's Dubai address.

Frequently asked questions

Does INSPECTMOTORS inspect the car at a Dubai seller's location?
Yes. With the seller's permission and safe access, our mobile inspector visits the car at a private address, showroom or suitable meeting place in Dubai.
Is a clean diagnostic scan enough to buy the car?
No. A scan is one source of evidence. Physical condition, service records, paint and body observations, and the checks possible under the chosen package all matter.
Can the inspector guarantee the car will not break down?
No. A pre-purchase inspection records accessible condition on the day. It does not dismantle the car or guarantee future reliability.
