Everything your package covers is done at the car's location: paint thickness readings on every panel, a diagnostic scan of the stored fault codes, and the engine bay and fluid checks. Do I need to be at home during the inspection?
No. Someone needs to be there to hand over the keys and give access to the car, but it does not have to be you. Many of our customers are at work or out of the country while their inspection is happening, and the report is sent to them wherever they are.
Can you inspect a car at the seller's home instead of mine?
Yes, and for a pre-purchase inspection that is usually the right address. Enter the seller's location when you book and the inspector meets the car there. The seller keeps the car the whole time, which is often the difference between them agreeing to an inspection and refusing one.
Can you inspect a car I already own at my home?
Yes. The inspection and the price are the same; we simply come to your address instead of a seller's. Owners usually book one before listing a car for sale, so the condition is documented, or before a long drive when they want a second opinion on something.

How long does the inspector need at my home?
Roughly 30 minutes for the Basic package, about an hour for Sleep Easy, and an hour and a half to two hours for Stress Free, including the road test on the packages that include one. The inspector needs the keys and access to the car for that period, and space to open every door and walk right around it.
Can you inspect a car in an apartment or tower car park?
Yes, we do it constantly. Underground and multi-storey car parks are fine. Tell us at booking if the building needs the inspector registered with security, or if access is by resident card only, so the visit is not held up at the barrier.
